Jazz Composers Orchestra Institute @ La Jolla Symphony

The JCOI EarShot La Jolla Symphony Orchestra New Music Readings will take place at the University of San Diego’s Mandeville Auditorium, with mentor composers Anne LeBaron (California Institute of the Arts), and Anthony Davis (University of California, San Diego), and conducted by Steven Schick. ACO’s featured participating composers are Alan Chan, Tobin Chodos, Michael Dessen, Ingrid Laubrock, Daniel Marschak, and Miya Masaoka. The Readings will include an open rehearsal on Thursday, September 19th at 7pm, and a run-through of the composers’ pieces on Friday, September 20th at 7:30pm. Both events are free and open to the public, but reservations are suggested.
